The City of Somerville is (again) doing street reconstruction work on Fountain Avenue. perhaps this time they'll actually evaluate the pedestrian conditions and do something right.
Fountain Ave. was listed as a 2009 Street reconstruction project here:

But today, 11/05/10, we find the city claiming that it is a current project:
