I was charged $140 for a COVID test at the Cornell Scott Hill Health Center. I found this provider on the New Haven COVID-19 portal, after reading multiple news articles about free testing in New Haven. I requested the test under the belief that it would be free, based on statements from the mayor and the layout of the COVID-19 portal. The costs were never mentioned during the visit. By charging exorbitant rates for testing that is actively encouraged by the city, the Cornell Scott Hill Health Center is profiting from a pandemic. This practice is at best misleading and at worst reckless profiteering. I've requested that the charge be revoked.
