Last time we had garbage pick up, the workers took 5 bags of lawn refuse which were in brown paper recycling bags and threw them in the garbage truck. It did not get recycled, and this is not the first time this hashappened. City residents take much time properly separating what can be recycled/disposed of properly from our garbage. We expect the city to do the environmentally CORRECT thing to be done.

For the past two weeks, I have listened for the garbage truck and have had to physically stop the guys from throwing lawn refuse in with the garbage. I have had to explain that another truck comes so it can be recycled. Sure enough, each time, a truck came to pick up the lawn refuse brown bags. Each time I have called the city to ask them to explain to the guys that lawn refuse bags should not be thrown in with the garbage. We'll see what happens this coming week. But if I weren't home, it would have all ended up in a landfill. Public Works: please educate your workers. Thanks.

I've seen this but wasn't sure if the trucks were garbage trucks with garbage in them, or if it just happend to be the case that trucks used to pick up leaves are the same kind of trucks used to pick up garbage.

Does anybody have any facts about this?
