The flashing traffic sign is now gone and it's back to business as usual with the high speed traffic. Whomever took the newly installed electronic, flashing speed warning down didn't even leave a good old fashioned NON-flashing speed limit sign for the traffic to ignore.
This morning as I was outside and I witnessed SEVERAL cars and delivery trucks headed southbound on the street at excessive speeds. It doesn't take a speed trap or a genius to know when someone is going faster than 30mph.
I don't understand what the town's response to any of this is. Other than you replying to these comments to indicate that things are being looked into (which I am grateful for to be honest, since its the only sign that anyone is even acknowledging this issue) there seems to be a real half-hearted], sporadic attempt to do anything permanent.
A flashing sign shows up for a couple of weeks. A cop parked on Calvin for a day or so. Then nothing. And the traffic speeds continue as they were before. It's unacceptable.
Please tell whomever is supposed to be looking into this that they are failing.
