or..use a lime stabilization base to prevent the asphalt from breaking..it's because the base is only dirt where it's a big sess pool that gets too muchy when it rains...don't the engineers have a clue?

if anybody with the street dept saw this road in am sure thay would be on it the next day that is how bad it is and fix the grade so the water would flow to the drain and not the yard and basements

This road is ridiculous! If you have anything lees than a 4x4, I suggest you stay away! When it rains the road floods and hides potholes large enough to bring a smaller car to it's frame... the 1% sales tax increase at work!

I'm struggling to understand why Rockford continues to patch roads which are in obvious need of complete repaving.

This road is HORRIBLE! I have family that lives here and I need to take an alternate route due to the condition of the road.

Big suprise....lots of work being done around town and we are ignored. South-siders UNITE!!! Lets keep calling until they fix it. its the only access over the aqua duct for 5 blocks...it's unavoidable and has turned my car into a rattling mess. I will pay extra taxes. just fix our freaking roads already.

Except you'd complain about something else then. Chipped paint, dirty car, etc.

Drive down that road... chipped paint would be the least of your worries. Gravel would be an upgrade.

Here's my REAL issue. I see people making comments here asking someone to "please check this out", or "I reported this X months/weeks/days/years ago and it's still there". I'm pretty sure there is a common theme to my comments - CONTACT THE PARTIES WHO ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR SOLVING THE ISSUE.

Nothing frustrates me more than to watch people who run in place, and are then be @#$% off because they didn't get anywhere.

Yeah, so I feel like taking a few minutes once or twice a week to point out the obvious to people who may not understand what this site is really about. It doesn't mean I don't have a life, it means I'm doing what I'm telling THEM to do.

By the way, I've driven that road recently. It's about like it was 30 years ago when I grew up in that neighborhood. The more things change...
