Description
My name is Koryn Young, I am the Engagement Coordinator for Bike Walk Macon. On September 20th we are organizing an Open Streets Macon, Neighborhood Activation Edition on the whole of Maynard Street. In addition, we will be creating a traffic calming project that will encompass the four corners at Maynard and Williams. (Pictures can be provided)
In speaking with Nigel Floyd, he suggested that I reach out to Public Works to help us get the street ready for the neighbors to come out and enjoy the day, as well as the four corners that we will be improving. We collected information from the community and neighbors and they gave us some wonderful feedback. My hope is we can help address as much as we can before the event.
There is a great deal of debris and plant growth on the proper sidewalks, forcing people to walk on the busy street. The drains at each corner have a great deal of trash and debris, creating some flooding when it rains. I have a great deal of information I would be happy to pass along to you. We mostly want to show up and show how wonderful their street is and how important their community is to us. (Additional Pictures can be provided)
We appreciate our relationship with the Macon-Bibb departments and staff. We find it wonderful that we are able to partner with our city to get these projects done to the best of our ability. I would like to thank you in advance for reviewing the above request. I am available anytime to discuss this with you and will be happy to provide you with any additional information.
