Fernway Rd is classified as a minor arterial and does not qualify for speed reduction cushions. If you contact the Chattanooga Police Department at 698-2525 and ask for the Lieutenant who is over your area, you can request they set up more patrols and radar on your street. This could be a deterrent to the speeders on your street. Do that a few times and the word will get around that you don't speed on Fernway.

Got my mailbox taken out the other day. I have seen a patrol car out here a hand full of time, looked like he was getting quite a few speeders. The speed vans are completely pointless, they put them up during mid-morning when there is the least amount of traffic on the roads. Also the new speed limit sign that is supposed to make drivers more aware of their speed, and slow them down don't work half the time, and when they do it's not effective. I've actually talked to people that use it to see how fast they can go around the corner exiting off of hixson pike.

There has yet to be done about the excessive speeding, even after having roughly 6 wrecks in the past couple of months (2 with injuries).
