Supervisor looked into this matter. The plow driver did plow equal amounts of snow on both sides of the road. Unfortunately there is no other place to put the snow.

It could go on the side of the street that has no sidewalks. There is supposed to be a NO PARKING sign on that side of the street that was knocked down several years ago and never replaced. If there is "no where else to put the snow" then maybe the town should scoop it and dump it on a lawn or something. Why make people pay to have it removed from their side walks only to have the town come and plow 4x as much back in. The original poster said he was disabled, which is why he pays someone to clear his walks to meet town ordinances. There should be more of a resolution than "oh well, there is no where else to put it. And for what its worth, the town only plows one swipe on this street, not both ways.

I am not sure that I made myself clear enough. The town can simply solve the problem by stopping 3 feet short of the corner of High and Burns Ave and leave the pile right before the crosswalk. Stop burying in the crosswalks atthe corners. This is not rocket science. It is beyond rediculous that the town buries in the sidewalks at the crosswalks. Maybe the drivers should get out of the truck and hand shovel a path back through the sometimes 5 foot drifts so that the sidewalks are accessible. This is a very serious issue. The current practice of the town forces people in wheelchairs and mothers with strollers to have to walk out into traffic around the piles and then cut back onto the sidewalks. To say that there is no place to put the snow is unnacceptable. A simple change in plowing practice as outlined above fixes the problem. There are two other solutions. One is to have the town come and scoop up the snow and load it into a truck as they have done in years past. The other solution is to simply have the driver turn the truck around and push the snow back off of the corner sidewalk at the crosswalk. I would be happy to instruct any town driver how to do this. Let's not wait until someone gets hurt or killed before we act.

No need to plow the whole road onto the sidewalk of a handicapped person sidewalk. There is a place to put the snow on both sides it was done last year when a compaint was filed. The next time I will call the police and file a formal complaint against the town like I did before.

I don't want someone to contact me. I want someone to fix the problem. I have picture of the guy driving down the wrong side of the road plowing the road from one side to the other side where the sidewalk is. I also have picture from last year when it happened and it was fixed last year. Check the emails I sent last year to the DPW. You'll see I'm not lying. The DPW also has the pictures from last year check them out I believe it's the some guy this year.

Yes I know there are two separate issues. I should have started my own complaint. sorry. The thread is common though. Common sense by the plow drivers is needed along with better supervision and someone to make notes for each route for all drivers to be aware of .
