This whole stretch or road needs work...all the way up to Eastern Street. I am surprised nothing was done to make a fifth lane all the way up to Quinnipiac Avenue once WalMart opened.....there's plenty of room to widen it - Walmart's parking lot is never full. And a right-turn-only lane onto Eastern Street would alleviate much of the backup at rush hour. None of the traffic lights are on sequence, either - the new one in front of Aldi is way off-sequence. the last bit of advice I could add is for the CT transit busses that stop in front of Taco Bell move the stop so its off the main road. I know it will take away some of the convenience, but when the bus stops in the right lane of the road, traffic backs up even more.

The traffic on that section of RT 80 is crazy. I try to avoid going during rush hour whenever possible. It has taken me 15min at times to get from the exit to Eastern St.I agree about the bus stop also it not only adds to the traffic jam its also dangerous when the bus riders run across the street to catch the bus.

I don't understand who they didn't do this when 80 was "redone" here. The Mc Donald's customers making illegal lefts out of there onto 80 westbound are causing serious safety issues. I avoid this stretch at all costs, which also means I don't shop at those businesses there. The EDC should be interested in improving this area.

This road should be posted on the ConnDOT Wall of Shame! Not only is it dangerous for vehicles but it is positively treacherous for pedestrians and cyclists. I live in Fair Haven and can see the WalMart across the river, but because of the poor design and lack of sidewalks, I would never walk or cycle there. Why isn't the DOT required to maintain pedestrian and cyclist access on the city streets where their highways off-ramps dump traffic?

This stretch is dangerous because the traffic lights are not synchronized from the northbound 91 exit ramp and Eastern Street.

Notice the line of cars waiting to make an "illegal" left turn. Too bad the "No Left Turn" sign can't be seen in this picture.

Twice this week, I saw pedestrians and also kids on bikes and skateboards in this busy roadway. Because of the location of these businesses, Walmart, Mc Donald's, etc, there are people w/o cars shopping here, and there is no sidewalk. The problem is compounded by the crazy left turns out of the shopping ctr that are not done at the light. This area has gotten busier and busier, but w/o the infrastructure being updated. There needs to be better signal timing w/ red light cameras, more police enforcement, traffic calming measures, a center median and sidewalks!

First of all, the shopping center should post "No LEFT turn" signs. Once an "island" is put in
the roadway, then you have to maintain the plantlife. Maybe they need Jersey barricades. An
island isn't necessarily the answer.
