Unfortunately, this is still going going on. And in reality it has been going on almost a year. Im on the other end of the neighborhood and can smell it every once in a while. Its not pleasant. Can the city even do anything for this? Or does somone need to force the owner to get it pumped and replaced.

King County is working on this request, the resident has been contacted and given until 11/4 to correct the issue.

So the deadline of 11/4 has come and gone and nothing has been done. So what's next? Only way to get landlord to comply would be a fine. He responds to money issues only not threats. Been well over a year for city to fix this!

I wanted to provide you with an update on this request and let you know we are working very closely with King County to get this resolved as soon as possible. The property owner was supposed to apply for a sewer connection permit, however after some research we have found that they have yet to complete this task. King County will be following up with the owner to inform them that they now are at risk of being issued a civil penalty for failure to comply. I want to thank you for your patience and concern. Rest assured the City of Kent is doing everything we can to remedy this issue however King County is the one who has jurisdiction over this concern. She is the staff member from the County that is working on this issue and able to enforce any penalties.
