This corner is VERY dangerous. Accidents occur here on a regular basis. The number of times I have witnessed nasty accidents, emergency personnel have to respond, and the Jaws of Life used in the last six years is WAY to many. PLEASE study this corner and find a safety solution!!!

An investigation of your concern has started. Today crash reports for the last 5 years were ordered. Once we receive them then they will be analyzed. There will also be a site visit, maybe several. There is only one person that has the knowledge that is able to make the determination. We apologize for the time it has taken to get to this point.

Due to staffing and workload issues, this investigation has been delayed. Crashes at this intersection were studied and we (of course) confirmed your report. Sight distance at this intersection is adequate and it is already a one-way roadway. As such, we will conduct a speed study on 10th to help determine if speeding is a contributing factor and continue to monitor crashes. If speeding on 10th is a factor, we will look into other measures.

If you have additional information you would like to share, or ideas on why we are seeing many crashes, please feel free to call Traffic Engineering at 785-368-3842 to discuss.
