Since the City of New Haven decided to close this issue and ignore it, I just want to remind city officials about cars, trucks, school buses and vans parked illegally on Orange Street between Audubon and Grove Streets. This morning there was a MOVING VAN and 2 cars parked illegally in the right hand lane. At the height of morning rush hour! Everyday these ignored illegally parked vehicles cause a HUGE traffic problem and major safety issues. Can someone tell me why cars parked illegally on Orange St are allowed to do so?
I agree 100% - this has gone on long enough ! Why does is bottleneck tolerated - DAILY !!
Add a school bus or two and its total chaos there - I guess once again someone HAS to get hurt or killed and then sue and only then will change occur !!!!!
really - you need to know what time this is happening - how about all day long ?
Is that specific enough for you ?
Really - like you didn't know this was happening and if only 'someone' pinpointed the exact moment it occurred you could prevent it - what a joke!!!
Between the hours of 8am and 9am is most congested, but this happens ALL DAY LONG on & off - I observe an overlap at least twice a day in your enforcement officers routes going down Audobon and then sitting at the benches by HANH (we all deserve breaks) but how about taking a look down Orange.
Yale transit routinely will not pull over into bus areas even when there are no cars blocking pick up area and cause ROAD BLOCKAGE- which last I checked is illegal. Maybe we should all park our cars to block traffic all along Orange Street and see how long it takes before the authority's enforce the law against non-Yale drivers.
I have posted pictures numerous times over the past year and my favorite was the police car parked in the right lane. Glad to see other people are peeved by this ignored traffic and safety problem. Come on New Haven Police Department, fess up and tell me the REAL reason you allow this illegal activity day after day.
They're playing Pong with the issue , and many others .Bouncing it back and forth slowly , if the speed picks up the Pong ball will go out into Infinite and beyond
Let me get this straight. It is illegal to park in any right hand lane citywide, except on Orange Street between Audubon and Grove. I'm interested in seeing how the law does not apply to Orange Street, but if I parked in the right hand lane on Chapel Street I'd be fined. Police Department can you tell me why you pass right by parked cars in the right hand lane and you DO NOTHING about it. I'm interested in what the police department has to say about it. YEARS have gone by and problem continues to be ignored.
We are trying to delineate issues that are current and need the city's attention to resolve and as a result a number of historical issues are being closed. If your issue remains and needs to be addressed by the city, please open as a new See Click Fix issue with updated information and details. Thank you.
