Can you please help by calling the non emergency (201) 547-5477
It will take you 20 seconds all you have to do is give the address and say it’s a noise complaint. The more people who call the more likely they will send a unit to tell them to stop.
FIVE HOURS IS WAY TOO MUCH!!!!!! And I bet it will go all night.
What are we going on, 8 or 9 hours of this pounding bass now? I’ve called twice (with over 2 hours between), for the person from the city who is going to reply to this Monday and tell us to call the non-emergency, they obviously don’t care since a bunch of people called now. I’m way up the block but can still hear the pounding through my walls— I feel sooo bad for anyone who is right around them.
Two critical situations that really drag this city down. #1 Loud Music #2 Dirty Streets (lack of public garbage cans). When I first moved here 30 years ago on West Side Avenue between Clinton and Communipaw Avenue, they used to have a sign that read Loud Music will be fined $1,000. I got excited about it but as it pans out, that's not gonna ever happen. This is a selfish breed of people, as you know some leave their cars with music blasting windows down as they enter into a store!! Sad.
I'm with you
Did anyone ever come and stop this? I finally fell asleep around 2am, and I could STILL HEAR THE BASS THUMPING. I live halfway up the block from that house, how were they able to play the music THAT LOUD FOR OVER 12 HOURS AND THEN SOME!!!
27 Roosevelt (or 29?) I hate you.
How did no one ever come by and tell them to stop despite all the calls? Terrible.
I finally fell asleep at 12:30. All calls to the police and still nothing.
Every time I called, they siad that they were backed up. Backed up ad 10+ hours?
The quality of life taskforce are not police officers. So the do not go on police calls.
Our police are often busy with more pressing assignments. However I know first hand how urgent this noise problem can be. May I suggest that firstly you speak calmly with the offender and ask them to please be considerate of others and not play their music so long (Sometimes it actually works).
Secondly if its a car or apartment where the music is emanating from take video footage on your phone. So that when the officers arrived it will not be he said she said, count on the offender(s) lowering the volume at the sight of the police, or just as they are arriving on the scene.
Thirdly, there have been times where I go to the precinct and play the video and alert the police to what is going on.
Frank, I know some people on Lexington that have a look out.
So when the police does come down, the music is low.
But talking doesn't help for longer then a couple minutes. And you can't talk to them over the music anyway.
That's leaves your video phone my friend. It reliably demonstrates what's been happening before the police get there. Take several differences incidents and talk to your precinct. They have a community chat with the Captain once a month call for date and attend.
come on man, if its that much of a problem go to them. Or just learn to tolerate it. Seriously, this is not Mayberry, there's a lot of crime going on in this city. This adage is true in community policing as it is in nearly every walk of life. The squeaky wheel gets the oil.

What's the point of calling if they just ignore it?

When it's so loud and you can't hear anything else at midnight?
