Happy Hollow Rd. Only has 2 speed limit signs. Extremely high rates of speed have been observed over the last several months. Very dangerous for pedestrians, those on bicycles, anims/pets, and car accidents. Please help.
What is the plan for resolving this siuation and what steps have been taken? Please advise. Thank you.
We performed a speed study on Happy Hollow and found that the median speed of vehicles was 37 mph, which is not significantly higher than the 35 mph speed limit. Therefore speed humps and other physical limitations are not warranted by traffic conditions. We did notice that some of the speed limit signage is faded or blocked by vegetation and made work orders to improve their visibility. Five percent of vehicles were recorded traveling at more than 10 mph over the speed limit, and we will bring this to the attention of the Dunwoody police department to consider additional speed limit enforcement in this area.
Thank you for taking the time to bring this to our attention, and thank you for using SeeClickFix!
It was Friday afternoon on the straightaway by Fontainebleau Drive. The police department notified me they're engaged in more thorough study of the area and we don't want to duplicate effort.
