Hello Neighbors and Town of Randolph - I am still without power on Grove Street as many of us are. I have spoken to National Grid several times now stressing the urgency of this matter. Not only do I have a refrigerator full of food that is now bad, but I am college professor at UMass Lowell who now due to the pandemic has to work from my home studio (and thank God for that) by conducting Zoom lessons online. Because of this outage I had to cancel all my students and reschedule them for tomorrow Universe willing. And now today’s students too. Please go to bat and represent your residents who need a timely resolution to this problem. National Grid should have their feet held to the fire and be working around the clock to fix this problem. I am a working professional and they need to be professional in how they are resolving this emergency. IT’S A PANDEMIC AND PEOPLE NEED ELECTRICITY IN ORDER TO DO THEIR JOBS!!! National Grid’s ineffective approach to reporting an estimate on restoring electricity is irresponsible because it has already been changed at least twice in the last 24 hours. It would be so appreciated and heartwarming if an official authority from the Town of Randolph would get on the horn with National Grid and communicate that this job needs to get done for the sake of its residents who are hard working tax payers. Everyone in this neighborhood who is affected should get on the phone with National Grid and express their displeasure. Nat’l Grid should set up work lights if necessary and work around the clock in shifts until this gets fixed. Last night at 8pm there was nothing being done. Crickets. They need to know how this situation is negatively affecting their customers!!!! Thankfully it’s a beautiful sunny day and I can be sitting outside while I write this message.
