How about instead of a bridge, we push for lanes behind concrete barriers utilising the road slip lanes which are very wide. a bridge is far too expensive, and that's why it hasn't happened yet.

Hmmm. Still nothing done. I use this bridge on four return journeys each week. It would be nice to have for government to get its act together and spend approximately $150k making it safe for all the riders and pedestrians that use it each day.

Still no action. Can still pass bike around edge of cyclone fence at north end of bridge and use the old rocky path down to the Tarban Ck slip lane and cross with care there. Pretty safe if you look left and wait for no traffic. Requires a little dexterity to lift bike but the Armco barrier isn't very high next to the road. Hop over barrier first. Working Bee required to remove rocks on path.
