Shovel? They can't pick up trash onthe lawn or move the cars for a parking ban....this town is becoming a nightmare of inconsiderate people who care not about anything....sad and wish I could sell the house and get out before it gets worse.....house for sale.........

Where is the WHPD? Public Works? Who in this city is responsible for enforcement?

As a fellow West Havener put it to me: "welcome to West Haven, now please lower your expectations." This is a town that is overwhelmed by people who are seriously civically challenged. And rather than demand what would be reasonable behaviors anywhere else, West Haven's administrations -- mayor, public works, police department, etc -- have been complicit by refusing to expect more. "The bigotry of low expectations." I would love to move, and once -- if -- the market picks up, my house is for sale, or better yet, I'll rent it on Section 8 to help the deterioration along; sometimes things have to get worse before they can get better. Perhaps West Haven has to hit bottom, but I don't want to be here when that happens.

Good question. But this is a deeply systemic problem with West Haven. No enforcement. And perhaps because they just don't care, and can't even be shamed into caring. Check out this very typical street corner.... at a bus stop. The plow just went diagonally from corner to corner, deliberately pushing the snow right into the curb cut. Because that's what they're meant for, right?, as receptacles for snow.
