Yes thank you for the photo at 83rd avenue , 83rd has no barrels blocking the street , if they would remove the barrels at 89th street when they are not working and leave their work area the same as 83rd avenue they can return to work on it as needed just stop blocking our street when not working

Previous comments say it is a telecommunications project. Attached is an image traveling southbound on 9th Street showing the barrels and lane closure marker. Surely the city of St Petersburg wouldn’t allow a third party to close the lane and place the marker without a permit? I can’t even make a home repair to the house I own without a permit! And for over six weeks with no notice work being done?

I agree! How does no one at the city not know about this?

Spoke to Frontier this morning, this project is to repair a damaged Frontier cable. Have a call out to the area construction manager to get a timeline for restoration and to verify permit information.

Frontier had permission to close a lane for the last six weeks even no work crew has been on-site? Suppose the timeline is another six weeks. Why can’t Frontier pick up the barrels and move the lane closure sign? I can imagine either the city or Frontier would be liable for an accident if they show the lane closure was unnecessary

Per Frontier, this emergency repair is in the final stages. Frontier crews will begin backfilling the ROW this Friday and normal traffic patterns will be restored by Sunday if not sooner. This includes the site at 83rd Ave as well.
