On January 15, 2014 the WPCA had investigated it's infrastructure by the process of Close Circuit TV inspection from manhole to manhole within the area of the sinkhole location. There were no defects identified within these segment of pipe. This sinkhole is located at the back of the curb line away from our infrastructure and not over the WPCA sewer main. As part of our investigation we are looking further to investigate the properties service lateral and are in the process of obtaining permission to enter this property located at 105 - 107 Beers St.
The Greater New Haven WPCA is not sure at this time that this is something that is caused by our infrastructure. We will perform all necessary steps to determine the cause and if this issue is related to our system but recommends that during this investigation the area be kept safe and secure until the cause of the issue can be identified.
We are closing this request due to its historic nature.
