Such a shame this building is not restored .
I have been admiring it for years !
Over this summer I observed a few groups of people inspecting ( Investors?)
And some work was done securing the windows etc.
Could be a perfect location for a community house also.
Hope we do not end up with another empty lot here!

This house was sold well over 10 years ago. I remember it being on the market with a for sale sign on it...maybe 15 years now? Wow..time flies & still nothing has been done to complete the job that was started. So sad that the mayor never did anything about blighted houses. So many of them around town.

LCI was informed over a year ago. Hence the posting here.

In my experience LCI does very little to alleviate/eliminate the problem. They will not fine landlords for violations. They write letters to landlords regarding issues but rarely follow through. Small issues remain unresolved, larger issues, I.e., blighted properly, are ignored.

That's crazy. The property is clearly an attractive nuisance, and appears to be a magnet for squatters. This is a large corner property on a well-traveled avenue, mere blocks from YNHH-St. Raphael's. It reinforces the idea that the city of New Haven just doesn't care.
