Description
Quaker Ave. exit from 9w southbound, left turn at split towards Route 32, by the stop sign/intersection with Quaker Ave. - there's a huge hole several feet long and at least a foot deep instead of any shoulder. this huge hole directly abuts the driving lane and is very dangerous.

The whole is caused by box trucks, who need a shoulder there so they can be more perpendicular to the intersection to see traffic coming from the right. Its either block oncoming traffic with the back of the truck, or get offroad on the right.
Definitely needs fixing.

Hey Chris,
I just set up a watch area for the Cornwall City Supervisor so they will be alerted to this issue and all future issues.
I'm sure they will respond now.

Hi, Ben,
Is there someone else we should be contacting? Nothing has been done and it's now been three months since the issue was 'opened'. Since it's the junction of 9w and Quaker Ave, perhaps the town and the state or county are passing the buck for fixing it back and forth to each other? i'd love to know whose responsibility this is. It's dangerous and has been there a long while.
Thanks again,
Chris

Its a good question Chris,
Could you look on the city website and see if there is email contact for Public Works or the Mayor.
Lets sign them up as well if the problem is not being addressed.
Thanks,
Ben

Cornwall has a Supervisor, rather than a mayor. Kevin Quigley is currently serving in this office. His email is kquigley@cornwallny.gov.
The Highway and Sanitation Department is responsible for road maintenance. It's currently being run by Robert J. Conley. His email address is rconley@cornwallny.gov.
I'm ready to stand knee-deep in the huge hole and have someone take my picture. Maybe the Cornwall Local would be interested in printing it?
