It's still dark, and getting darker.

I called NU directly. The first time, they told me that it was waiting to be scheduled - since last summer. The second time, the service rep promised to call the responsible department. About a week later, we saw a truck pulling away from the now-working street light. We flagged the driver down and thanked him, and we asked if he knew how long that light had been out. He said "Two years, ever since I reported it."

Problem resolved.
