Members of the community contacted Martin Looney, Chris Murphy, Gov. Malloy, Richard Blumenthal, Rosa DeLaura, and DeStefano with no response back. One of the major problems Quinnipiac Ave./East Shore has are the multiple projects owned by New Haven Housing Authority particularly those managed by Chris Cevetillo. He has been contacted on his properties which narcotics are being sold out of, also with no response. HANH is funded by state and federal money from our lovely politicians. Executive Director Karen DuBois-Walton has a salary of $175,276, Deputy Director Jimmy Miller has a salary of $170,708 and their budget this year is at $88 million so I guess it would be difficult for these politicians to help their constituents solve the quality of life issues in our neighborhoods. These politicans gave and approved this budget to HANH. Drugs are sold out of these run down properties. The community must fight back as there seems to be no oversight with HANH.

Just to put my two cents...
I live on Weybosset and there is drug problem there too. I call the cops and let them know and no one ever comes or responds. I bet if the cops responded in a timely manner they would catch the guys quicker. This neighborhood is outta control.

The amount of money these people make is absurd. Really??? The alders need to intervene once and for all.

My colleagues and I at the Board of Alders are working hard to address safety concerns and crime by getting Communitty Policing fully implemented. Sargeant Anastasia is working hard on these issues, but we need more police as well as accountability from HANH. Please bring your concerns to the Qunnipiac East Management Team meeting (every first Tuesday of the month at 6:45pm at Ross Woodward School). The more vocal the community is the more response we will get from the city. This has been going on too long. Our residents deserve better.

HANH is a joke she get $175 k for what?? To look the other way? HANH is half the reason the dealers are still in business. No we know why Hamden wants their fence back up. No one can trust HANH do anything - AT ALL !

ready to move too- I feel your frustration. HANH has been destroying the Quinnipiac/East Shore neighborhood with the rest of the city for years. The triple shooting at 1378 Quinnipiac Ave. was HANH property and they still made no effort to clean it up or the drugs and numerous quality of life issues in Saint Anthony 1/2, Essex townhouses, Eastern Circle and the rest of the scattered housing in the area. Until politicians are held accountable for their actions and inactions nothing will change. It is said politicians are only driven by blood and money. Apparently they are comfortable with the murder rate in New Haven and no one seems to be voting them out of office.

It also goes under the category if the police department starts responding to the smaller crimes and not writing them off, the huge crimes might be stopped.
