There is definitely a lot of speeding even by passenger vehicles. This is a danger for pedestrians and pets.

Agree - we have been thinking that we need the speed bumps for cars as well. This is a residential area, but its not uncommon to see excessive speeds and reckless passing of those who are maintaining respectful speeds.

Hi Ms. Carr - I called the police non-emergency line and they came to the Editors Park community. I know that other members of the community did as well. What I am requesting, as well as the other commenters, is a more permanent solution to speeding on Sentinel Drive which is a pervasive issue. We would appreciate it if the city would please address our concerns by beginning the evaluation process for speed bumps. Thank you.

Public Works will be installing some traffic counters to begin an evaluation for traffic calming options. Due to a freeze on any new capital construction projects we can not give out an estimate of when or if any work would be approved at this time. The Hyattsville Police department should be called at 301-985-5050 if the racing/speeding does occur. We are also passing this on to the police department as well.
