Agreed - great idea!

Only one car parked along the whole stretch by the park today - would make an excellent protected bike lane especially since it would connect directly to the car free streets in East Rock!

I'd argue that the street parking is not "underutilized." Today is a cold and rainy day - not a good example. On nicer days, both sides of the street are often packed with the cars of people who are visiting the park.

Speeding, however, is definitely an issue, and when parked cars line both sides of the street, the street is not wide enough for two opposing lanes of car traffic.

I think this is a great idea. I also wonder if the road could be an access only road for cars with bollards at the north end to provide a more pleasant route for pedestrians, cyclists, other park users and the residents on Livingston.
