Are you calling me a racist? So you do realize that when the value of my home goes up yours goes up too. You have lived here for 15 years and have not participated in your community if you had you would know that there is a Neighborhood Watch a Havenscourt Neighborhood Association and you live in Police Beat 30x for which I was the Chairperson of 30x Neighborhood Crime Prevention Council. It is California Ordinance that you move your 4 to 5 cars every 3 days. And its illegal to park salvaged cars on the street. Maybe instead of complaining about me and calling me a racist you should take responsibility for the codes you are breaking in the Neighborhood daily such as the dumping that you constantly leave in front of your house that I have reported to 311 regularly to have picked up. I have all the records and for each occurrence. Now that your house has increased in value your welcome maybe you should now do something to clean it up and protect your investment.

Yes calling you racist because no one in this neighborhood are trying to sell there homes and worried about there house market no one is planning to sell or leave this neighborhood like your self. If your investing in properties and reselling properties you should do your investments with out getting the neighbors involved and trying to get people fined calling the city the neighbors to get them fined and trying to get there cars towed and my cars are not salvage vehicles they all are clean title in my name with full coverage Ms Mars you should just sell your house extremely appreciated if you just stop harassing our neighborhood

Sounds like the fines were justified. What’s wrong with people wanting to live in a clean and nice neighborhood? The current state of East Oakland is shameful. Junked cars, lawlessness and trash everywhere should not be the standard.

Ignorance of the law is not a pass and the codes were put in place to protect the neighbors who do care about their property value. It's good that you are making the people on Church Street aware that you do not care about them or their property value. I didn't make the laws or the rules I only follow them.

Maybe you should look at your own behavior, to see if it doesn’t warrant you making changes to your actions. If the City of Oakland is actually taking the time to investigate and subsequently fining people, there must be some merit to the report!
And just because something “has been done that way” in Oakland for decades, doesn’t mean it’s not illegal!
Maybe feeling uncomfortable, is what’s driving neighbors to report on other neighbors. Clearly there are some legitimate complaints, otherwise people wouldn’t be getting fined by the City of Oakland.
We all should be looking to ourselves, to see if we are truly being the best neighbor possible, for the entire neighborhood, not just for a select few!
And wanting to live a better quality of life, is not necessarily tied to someone’s desire to increase their property value.
But, we can always find ways to justify our own actions. Especially if we can blame them on other people.

Why would someone be racist just because they want a clean law abiding neighborhood. I want my property to increase in value also. Im not planning to move but i want clean peaceful quality of life for my remaining time here. If you were fined then just maybe you was in violation of established ordinances. Get involved with your city and broaden the scope beyond your personal preference of easygoing with trash and abundance of cars. I personally dont want these illegal purchased traps on wheels parked around my house. Lets Make east oakland clean again. We all can have and enjoy quality of life without being racist.

Yeah, this doesn't sound like racism. It sounds like you need to change your behavior.

It's nice that you want to help people with their cars, but if you can't find a way to do it without violating ordinances, then maybe you need to start saying no to people when they ask you for that help... or maybe you need to go over to their house to do the work. I dunno. But if you're getting fined repeatedly for the same thing, that isn't because someone is reporting you... it's because you're violating an ordinance. Doesn't matter if you see someone else get away with it -- that doesn't make it right. Doesn't matter if you've been doing it for 15 years -- that doesn't make it right.

This is really disturbing that someone would post a picture of the house a person lives in and then calls them racist and puts them on blast for making reports that help to better a community. This probably is the only 311 report this person has made and it is not a valid post to help the community!

Ms Mars is not the annoying neighbor here it’s the others who continue to violate the ordinance of no parking on sidewalks and up to date tags while parking on the street. I want change in Oakland too . No more garabage

The lawlessness and complete disregard for being a good neighbor by having multiple junked cats parked everywhere, garbage and loud parties until 3-4am and so loud that you can hear from 2 blocks away, needs to stop.
