Thank you for your feedback. Per the Air Quality Division, the property in question is Fugitive Dust Control permitted and is in compliance with their permit. The property owner has very recently installed a straw crimp soil stabilizer and a silt fence as a permanent solution to control the fugitive dust on this property. The property was inspected on 03/21/11 and found to be compliant. UNBELIEVABLE!! I think someone must have viewed this lot when wind was at 0 mph. The spring winds have made this lot a hazard ever since the owner plowed up all the natural landscape. My house has been so full of dust and dirt from the blowing over this lot that there is no question, it is a hazard. I lived 17 years in this subdivision and it wasn't until the plowing took place that this became a problem!

The status on this has been closed? Seriously? The blowing dust & dirt from the vacant land at Paradise, Paseo del Norte & Eagle Ranch is extremely dangerous for drivers. The blowing dust severely reduces visibility. Children who are waking to and from Petroglyph Elementary school are often in harms way when the wind is blowing. For several years, residents in the Cactus Ridge neighborhood have had damage to their homes and yards due to the dust and dirt from the unimproved land. This is a health hazard to area residents who have with asthma or chronic upper respiratory problems. Safety issues, health hazards and damage to local yards and residences should be more than enough to cause the city to take a second look.
