This is a major problem for city cyclists. The City Plan plan on cycling infrastructure, dated 2004 and available on the city's website, says that cyclists must be provided with a smooth surface, particularly along designated routes. Since this section of Whitney is a major cycling route (and actually signed as one by the city), one could try submitting these complaints through the city's 311 system or otherwise lobbying for this to be fixed. The city has an obligation to do this.

I try to avoid this part of Whitney as people tend to end up in my lane. Hitting a car must be better than hitting one of these potholes.
