Yep. She has been there since like the beginning of the summer. Like a good 7/8 months. So if you just noticed it you are lucky.
She refuses to leave. Multiple agencies have tried to get her into a shelter and she refuses to go. Adult services had everything she needed set up. A shelter, food, help, therapy...everything and she absolutely refused to go. She is an Alcoholic and buys multiple bottles of Wine from Walgreens daily. And liquor from the gas station. She won't go into a shelter because she refuses to stop drinking. She chugs the bottles while sitting at the bus stop. She changes her clothes right there infront of traffic. Last week my kids got a full boobie show. It's nasty. I cannot believe Gilbert allows this. Her baskets and garbage and all the crap. This isn't down town Phx. I have to see this daily. Anytime I drive home as I live right there. It's NOT okay when she refused to leave. She had the help! At this point I don't feel bad anymore and she needs to GO. People need to STOP giving her stuff and money. She literally REFUSED a shelter for booze. So the good people of Gilbert shouldn't be supporting her anymore. Ugh. I really hope the PD can do something. This is like the 4th post I've seen the past few weeks.

We see this lady every single day, she minds her own business and does NOT leave trash anywhere. All of the bags your speaking of are always in her cart, and there is nothing left on the ground. You should be ashamed of yourself to go out of your way and report this poor old lady when she has no impact on you or anyone else’s life. She’s already homeless, it’s right before Christmas and very cold out, yet you’re going out of your way to file a complaint..You should be ashamed of yourself. I’m honesty disgusted.

Let’s just hope you never find yourself in a similar situation, and have a Karen like you go out of their way to file a report when you’re not hurting anyone and just trying to survive.

She could survive just fine in the SHELTERS she was offered. She doesn't have to live on our corner. She chooses that to drink. When my kids she her naked chest driving home yes this DOES EFFECT MY LIFE. I'm not the original posted but I 100% agree with it. She needs to GO. Yes it is cold out. She was out there when it was hot out too. Housing was offered to her MULTIPLE times. Someone even offered to let her live in a room in their house. She turned that down too. She could be off the street but she doesn't want to. So why should I have to see this daily. O yea.. we shouldn't! You can't feel sorry for people who refuse to help themselves. That is called enabling! And is not the same.

Why would this be assigned to the 'Office of Digital Government"? I too have been seeing this "situation" since the beginning of summer and also agree it should not be allowed to continue. Indecent exposure is a crime, so is public drunkenness, squatting (if you can claim residence in a bus stop...) etc., etc.. After refusing free help, it's time to go. And yes, she does leave trash around.

Lol. Maybe she doesn't bother YOU but she bothers others! She bothers me and I'm not "no one". I'm tired of seeing it everytime I drive in and out of MY neighborhood. I moved to Gilbert from Glendale to get AWAY from that. And now it's a stones throw away again. We TRIED TO HELP her. What about that doesn't anyone get?? She refused it. That's not MY fault. Smh. Now everyone wants to enable that crap. Not okay. She had a shelter and warmth and safety. She refused. She shouldn't be allowed to just stay there.

There are obviously differing opinions about this lady who refuses help, and I’m sure she’s a nice lady. She may not impact my day to day life, but I live in Gilbert for a reason and not Mesa. Truth of the matter is, shes trespassing and the city needs to step up. Maybe there’s a nicer bus stop she will like better in Mesa or Phoenix :)

It don’t care that she’s homeless. Just not in my neighborhood. Y’all are pieces of work. A bunch of fake Christians who only do things for clout versus from the true bottom of your heart. Regardless she is someone’s daughter, mother, sister... have some respect because she does mind her business and she doesn’t bother you! You are bothered by her. Period.

This issue needs to be handled by calling the Gilbert Police Department's non-emergency line, 480-503-6500, at the time of occurrence. This allows the police department to observe the situation and resolve it at the time it is happening.

David - This was assigned to the Office of Digital Government because it was reported to the "Other" category. Unfortunately, Gilbert 311 isn't monitored 24/7 so residents would need to call our PD non-emergency line when this is observed so that our officers can make an in-person interaction and assess the situation.
