the slums better known as apartments need a close inspection. over flowing trash, furniture setting on curbs, at times cars on blocks. GREAT for the seniors to have to look at and not a safe area to go to the two nice parks.
And there is also a trend of poorly managed apartment complexes in Haltom City as well! The criminal element along with the disrespectful and inconsiderate, and a growing illegal alien population have control over Haltom City's apartment communities and there is not one single authority figure doing anything about it! Although the city did come into our complex and enforce junk and abandoned vehicles and improperly disposed of trash, they failed to follow through on these issues in addition to failing to address the SOURCE of the problems. So, the usual suspects are back to their misbehaving, breaking rules and openly laughing/mocking all authorities! For instance, last night I came home to the same large/junk sofa dumped in our parking lot (yes, next to the dumpster, but this is NOT proper or allowed), the same untagged and junky orange transam in the parking lot, multiple non-resident vehicles taking up resident parking, and 5 men loud, drunk men crammed into a one bedroom apartment.
So, I guess my question is, Are there ANY apartments in Haltom City that AREN'T slums?
@ wonderwoman YES. All.
LOL @ DLynn, south haltom is a very transient area. The citys pritority before the gas wells was cleaning it up, they were proud and progressive. As soon as they found gas and the millions in potential for the city, they changed the slogan to something like a place to call home but that applies north of Broadway. South of 28th its still going to be a fight but we cannot get enough citizens to stand up and say enough is enough. If you know, there are 10 wells going in with no regard to to the citizens safety or worse, no regard to the property owners. It was a sad day when the third of 10 wells went up within 1/4 mile of my home (121 & Carson, Haltom & waldemar, 121 just east of Haltom) and the residents supported it. The gas company laughs everytime they speak at the events telling the residents they are surprised at the positive response considering they will make millions a month from each well and the residents who provide the easements and right of ways will receive a decent sum but are scratching thier heads why the typical resident supports this activity since they will only make $12 to $40 a month on royalties on average. They have dumbed us down, while we have other country flags along Belknap, empty lots and businesses, empty theatre, empty Kmart yet are aggressive to supply N Haltom with new restaurants and businesses. We are withing a very short distance to FT Worth and should be attracting that clientel to buy here and live here. Wait till the fracking contaminates the water. Pretty sad when my criminalien neighbor abandons their home to move to fort worth to live in a nicer neighborhood.
