Description

The lot at 1513 Big Cove Road has. Very large pit dug out, about half-way from the street. When it rains, the hole fills with water, which often stands for days at a time.
This has become a problem in the summer when the standing water breeds mosquitos. As new families with young children move into the area, it’s become a bit scary. A child could be hurt falling into the large hole. If the hole had water in it, a child could drown. There is no barrier around this giant hole.
Lastly, and much less important than the danger the hole poses, is that this lot is a mess. In warmer months the owners let grass and weeds grow until they’re 8’ high, it’s full of rocks and concrete, and it’s a hideous addition to our neighborhood.
If anything can be done to get the owner to fill in the hole, the lot might still be a disaster, but at least no children could get hurt.
