Description
Davenport Street is now *mostly* one-way, from Saginaw Ave to Mass Ave. Can it be made *fully* one-way, starting from Elm Street instead?
Aside from trucks leaving Star Market, the only traffic that can even oppose this pattern right now are cars that turn left from Saginaw Ave (a private way) onto Davenport Street, and then exit onto Elm Street. But Saginaw Ave is two-way and the other end actually intersects with Elm Street. So vehicles which leave residences here can simply drive the opposite way on Saginaw Ave to get to Elm Street. (Or to get to Mass Ave, they can still drive to Davenport Street instead, but with this change they would be required to make a right turn.)
Designating this entire street as one-way would be much simpler for people to recognize and learn, and this would hopefully avoid unnecessary accidents especially at the Mass Ave intersection. It would also fully eliminate the possibility of two vehicles encountering each other going the opposite direction near the Elm Street intersection — this street is really not wide enough for that, especially when delivery trucks are involved.

The northernmost segment of Davenport was maintained for 2-way access as the Star Market loading dock needs to allow vehicles to exit to the north. Given this requirement we do not plan to change this segment to one-way.
Thank you.
