A four way stop is definitely needed at this intersection. This would force drivers to slow down and stop and put an end to the excessive speeding on Frye road. The main reason that a four way stop is needed is because there is a school bus stop on the south side of Frye. I have witnessed many drivers speeding past children who are trying to cross the street. At times it's difficult to cross the street as there is no crosswalk. Many times drivers just ignore the children trying to cross the street and just speed by. I pray that nothing ever happens to a pedestrian but I'm afraid it's just a matter of time before someone is injured or killed. Please please consider putting up a four way stop at this intersection before something bad happens.
I think that most people would be against speed bumps. Some areas of Chandler and Guadalupe have them and a lot of people hate them. I think four way stops are a better solution and would be acceptable to most people
I do believe that the accident that occurred on Christmas day was due to excessive speeding and the fact that a lot of drivers turning left onto Hansen Dr from Frye Road do not slow down and very often cut the corner off when making the turn. I have almost been hit head on by drivers at this intersection while waiting to turn onto Frye Road from Hansen Dr. A four way stop at this intersection would definitely prevent more of this from happening and also protect pedestrians walking in this area
Again this weekend it was a bit worrisome to walk on sidewalk and during the evenings dangerous to cross road. We need two stop signs to warning signs and some paint for a crosswalk. It is getting worse since people are using this residential street since the speed reduction on Williamsfield and recker.
The wall that was knocked down due to this accident is still boarded up and serves as a daily reminder that nothing has been done to ensure it does not happen again.
Everytime I see these requests they sit for a long time and disappear. For a residential 25MPH road with a school on one end you think it would have some importance for safety. Just asking for some stop signs and crosswalks for safety.
I wonder what it's going to take to get something done about the excessive speeding on Frye. Does someone have to get injured or killed for you to take notice? I walk in front of the wall that was damaged every single day as do many other people. Someone could have been killed. Children cross the street at that intersection 5 days a week to get to and from their bus stop and I see cars whizzing by traveling way over the speed limit and still nothing is being done about this. An earlier response hinted at doing a study of traffic flow in this area. Has that been done? Whoever is in charge of doing these studies should be out there during the week between 7:45am and 8:30 am to see the volume of traffic and just how many children are in that area. Patrols in the area can only do so much. What is desperately needed is a 4 way stop and clearly marked crosswalks. It's just a matter of time before something terrible happens
And a nice citizen has pulled your sensors up and threw them on the sidewalk. This shows you the mentality of the drivers and why we need crosswalks and stop signs added to this intersection.
Please put the traffic sensor back on the street on the north side of Hansen where the wall was damaged. I'm not a traffic engineer but I know you can't collect traffic data without a sensor in place! I live north of Frye and Hansen and I know how busy that street is. A lot of streets feed off of Hansen so naturally there's a lot of traffic approaching Frye. I hope that the proper data is collected to show how great the need is for a four way stop at this intersection.
We need help now please have officers placed between this intersection and Frye. Yesterday at about 3:30 I was almost hit by someone who decided to pass me in bike lane while I was trying to turn. That person also almost hit the car waiting to turn left on south side of intersection.
This morning between intersection and Frye someone caught up to me and stayed so close I could not see their headlights. There is no place to pu off this residential 25MPH road legally. This straight of way is a drag strip and it's scary to drive, walk, and bike. Gilbert please be proactive and protect your tax paying citizens.

Once traffic engineering has completed our review, we will post our findings.
Dear 311 Users -
Thank you for bringing your concern to our attention at Frye Road and Hansen Drive. We reviewed your concern for a 4-way stop at the intersection of Frye Road and Hansen Drive and speeding along Frye Road.
Guidance from the national standards outlined in the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD), Federal Highway Administration (2009, updated 2012) was used to determine the appropriate traffic control for the intersection of Frye Road and Hansen Drive. Based on review of the traffic volumes, crash history, and other consideration, the Town of Gilbert’s Traffic group recommendation is for the existing traffic configuration to remain and not provide an All-Way Stop at this location.
Improper or unjustified all-way stop intersections can result in one or more of the following disadvantages:
A. Increase delay,
B. Excessive disobedience of the all-way stop,
C. Increased use of less adequate routes as road users attempt to avoid the all-way
stop and
D. Increases in the frequency of collisions (especially rear-end collisions).
To address the left turn concerns on Frye Road it is recommended to re-stripe Frye road to include a left turn lane at the intersection of Frye Road and Hansen Road. Frye Road is scheduled for pavement resurfacing next finical year (July 2021 to June 2022) and the modifications to add the left turn lanes on Frye Road will be incorporated at that time.
In addition to the all-way stop consideration, the concern for speeding along Frye Road was investigated. The Town of Gilbert took speed counts along Frye Road. After reviewing the results of the speed counts, driver feedback signs are recommended and will be installed along Frye Road. Per the Town of Gilbert’s Policy, speed humps are not allowed on collector streets (Frye Road) and in addition the speeds collected did not meet the 85 percentile speed needed per the speed hump policy to install.
Let us know if you have any additional questions or concerns.
I'm sorry, this is not an acceptable answer. People could be injured or killed because of your decision to do basically nothing. Are you ok with that? What about the kids who cross at this intersection 5 days a week to get on a bus to school, do they matter? I think it all comes down to budget constraints. Kicking the can down the road for a few months until you put some stripes on the street may save some dollars in the short term, but at what cost?

Gilbert 311, the spending counts need to be redone.
The strip I saw was on Hansen Dr, not on Frye Rd which is where the speeding occurs. I drive that section of Frye daily and never saw a strip placed.
A jerk for a neighbor removed the strip on Hansen, and tossed it into the bushes. So I’m not even sure how many days the strip even registered for.
I’m at the point where I’m going to get a radar gun, sit out on that corner, and register passing cars my self.
