The problem is that homeless people cannot be forced to go into shelters. I don't know if the City has any other housing facilities for the homeless.

There are at least two other encampments on the same block. No one in charge seems to care about the neighborhood or these people who are living on the streets in the dead of winter.

There are encampments set up along Public Storage. We can see them urinating on the sidewalk every night. It’s only gotten worse along this area. It’s unsafe to walk down the street because the belongings topple over with the cart, hence we walk in the middle of the street to avoid this person who makes odd gestures and grunts. We just need our city to help these people. There’s only so many times as residents you can avoid/approach them, but it’s multiplying and they are finding points of interest to basically plop their home on wheels and urinate from my balcony and moan. It’s concerning this individual is in need of help

Garden State Episcopal has a Homeless Outreach Team to engage with homeless individuals. They have been contacted regarding this concern several times, however, the individual refuses to go to a shelter. They cannot be forced to go to a shelter/warming center.

I my self understand & can empathize as I was once was homeless myself, I'm taking heat from all sides, Tenant's come to me about the smell of urine, garbage & not feeling safe, I myself have approach the individual who in turn has gotten violent with me on numerous occasions, I am the care taker for the property in question & don't think should have to fear every day I STOP by to check the grounds, There must be something the city can do to resolve this matter, let's not wait until someone get's hurt or even lose a LIFE

As stated before, Garden State Episcopal's Homeless Outreach Team has been contacted regarding this concern and an email has also been sent to the East District CRO, Officer Krystal Rodriguez.
