When I picked my children up today, there were many open parking spaces in the lot. I was able to park in the first row there were still so many left. However, there were already 2 cars parked in the fire lane when I got there, so it definitely wasn't an issue of there being nowhere else to park.

Its been going on for year. The principal doesnt do anything about it. Teachers are assigned to monitor kids being released and do nothing. I've seen a car accident in the parking lot last year and the principal NEVER went out to check on the students in the car. I also told the teachers, principal and Secretary know that people are leaving young kids in the car while parents went to the front doorto pick up students.
Then you go to ESS to basketball on a Saturday you have the blue Subaru that parks on the side walk.That person has the hole front lot to park and the pick the side walk and makes kids walk in the busy parking lot

It starts with the school resource officer that parks next to the handicap spots not in a marked spot that is sticking out in traffic.....if his vehicle needs to be close assign and mark the first spot, not park illegally

While this complaint was forwarded to our Patrol and Traffic Divisions for extra attention, we encourage citizens to complain via the phone for quicker responses to the issue. Often times officers are engaged in other duties or assignments while parking violations are occurring. Please contact our agency when the fire lane violation is occurring for a quick response. If you are dissatisfied with the response after the phone call, contact our agency again and request to speak with a supervisor. I have asked the principal about this, and she suggested contacting EPD. This has been going for a LONG time. At pickup, people park in the fire lane everyday! Some also park in the handicapped spots. This parking lot is in desperate need of updating. Sadly I guess it's going to take an accident or worse in this parking lot for someone to pay attention to how bad it is.

These parking problems occur on a DAILY basis between roughly 3:10 - 3:30 pm! The police have been into the lot in the past, so while I understand that it is not top priority they have been made aware before. I agree with Gina, I believe until someone is hit walking between illegally parked cars into on coming traffic I don't think anything will change. The people that start lining up in the fire lane at pick up do so while there are still roughly 2 dozen available parking spots, so space is not "the issue". Laziness and feeling that the laws don't apply to them ARE. I've almost been hit a few times by incoming cars that have to pass the illegally parked cars when I try to back my car out of my LEGALLY parked spot I can NOT wait until my child is out of that school!

Seems like an issue 5-10 orange cones would solve...

You would think so, but when people ignore the cones that are already placed around the fire lane...then what.....
