The street is chewed up in front of the construction entrances. No anti tracking pads installed.

This site is an active construction site. As such there will continue to be heavy equipment in and out of the site. The site has all required permits and is in compliance. Engineering and Zoning make weekly compliance visits to the site to make sure that plans are adhered to and measures for erosion control are in place and maintained. There are currently no violations on the site. We will continue to actively monitor this site as required.

The road should not be closed. But it is the nature of construction to have to get equipment in and out of a site.

I fully comprehend the nature of construction. But there are other site entrances instead of closing all of Brewster street during rush hour trying to get to the train station.

If there is a convoy of triaxles across both lanes of Brewster street then they are closing the road

I understand construction. I also understand submitting a construction plan and a traffic plan. I understand that they are perpetuating an eyesore not putting up a visual barrier for the residents

I would be happy to meet you and/or your Council members out there to go over your issues. While some may relate to something (traffic or roadway permit) that I can assist with some may not. I can get the complaint back to the appropriate person in the City. But I cannot fix anything by only getting a "construction without a permit complaint" that reads the site contractor is closing the road.

I would like the department directors to post unequivocally that this construction is in accordance with the current regulations. The streets are muddy and torn up. No fencing around piles of construction materials. No antitrack pads leaving mud and potholes. Tons of exposed and stinking soil. No sidewalk protection.

Where is the sidewalk protection as per the building code?

The City has made dozens of visits out to the site. For building inspection as well as soil and erosion control measures. We have worked directly with the contractor and the developer in order to make sure any issues are corrected in a timely manner. We understand the frustration behind some of the comments here. The public must understand that this is an active construction site. A substantial amount of demolition and site grading is going on. That being said the contractor is responsible for site cleanliness and adherence to the regulations. When an issue comes up we quickly move to inspection and corrective measures. As I stated 3 months ago I am happy to meet on site to go over concerns but I have not heard from anyone via email. My email once again is jon.urquidi@bridgeportct.gov. I can help connect the question to the proper department as needed. There is a comment from about a month ago stating that there is no anti tracking pad or erosion control measures. This is simply not true and we review these required measures periodically with the contractor. the responsibility for enforcing the Soil Erosion and Sedimentation control measures resides with the Zoning Department with assistance from the Engineering Department. We will investigate the sidewalk issue although we have reviewed this in the past and found it to be in conformance to requirement or in accordance with approved sidewalk detour.

The asphalt has been torn up and all the pothole requests are closed as completed.

Sections of the temporary fence are knocked over every day. How is that safe?

Do you see trench protection and barricades on the job site? Eventually some curious kids are going to enter that unsecured site.

So what has happened 30 days later? Still no sidewalk hoarding. The work site is an osha nightmare. Canfield Ave potholes are a disaster. Still no tracking pads. No police when the contractor closes the street. Weeds over taking the sidewalks. It really is a shame because the building code is clear and osha is clear. The onus is of the city officials to protect the public.

Nope. Just another Bridgeport citizen who actually manages to remember that there is construction going on here and so...I take a different route. It's just not that difficult. And FYI I am not trying to silence you just wish you could see what a pill you're being.

They closed off Canfield Ave again and traffic was jammed up. I called dispatch and the mayor’s office. Hours later there was still no change.

The City is ignoring the needs of the taxpayer and giving the contractor every leeway.

7am. Bothe lanes closed. No police. Just a couple of clueless laborers playing flag man.

Did you ever take Engineering Official 1 up on his offer to meet you at the site and go over your complaints, etc? If not you're just blowing smoke because you have a personal issue with the work being done. Just make the appointment and get the clarity and possible corrections you are seeking.

I can tell you that I have emailed the mayor, councilmen, engineering, building, zoning and have not received a response.There are a dozen 311 issues about this construction. I spoke to one of the engineer last year, and she said they spoke to the builder. There have been no corrections. If you haven't already, I suggest you drive by and experience this mess for yourself. This is one of the major entrances into Black Rock and it looks like a stereo type of the projects.
