Lots of drivers take the left on to 9th street after the bridge. They take 9th to middleburgh and then right, up the hill to oakwood. I think this lessens the cluster f*^k at the oakwood/10th & hoosick intersection. And, I don;t see why taking a left on to 9th st from hoosick would add to the problem at the oakwood/10th and hoosick intersection?

Why dont they install a big SPUIE like they did in Latham? Or a traffic circle? There's gotta be a better way than what's happening now.

The few cars that take the left turn north onto 9th St are either druggies or speeders going thru a residential neighborhood. The left turns onto 9th St mess up the double left turn stacking lines for the Oakwood Ave turn and create conflicts with the people trying to get into the proper lanes coming off of the bridge and go up Hoosick St. It doesn't save any time short cutting thru 9th street to Oakwood Ave. If they want to go to Middleburgh St it is quicker to use 5th Avenue or River St. from the bridge ramp.

The traffic engineer in the City of Troy lacks common sense. The same applies to the NO LEFT TURN from the southbound traffic on River Street at Federal Street. Why in the world is there NO LEFT TURN at this intersection. I have to go through downtown Troy to get to my residence on the hill, just to make some silly person look good. TIME FOR A CHANGE. If the Northbound traffic on River/Fourth Street can have a left arrow to go across the bridge, why not time it with the left hand traffic going up Federal Street? Makes sense to me.

I live in that neighborhood i'm not a druggie or a speeder> I live on 8th street I"m one of those that make that turn to 9th North> So you think it would be better to jam up an already busy intersection Hoosick to Oakwood @ 20 yrs ago they had a NO LEFT TURN to 9th then Rensselaer over *th and back on the highway to detour the drug traffic But then people drove to Stewarts or made U turns so they wouldn't be make left turns I dont remember how long that lasted But it didn't work then it won't work now There is twice as much traffic than ever before. the crossing light is long and nobody pays attention to it anyway they cross when they want they J walk and cant seem to be able to understand that the RED mean don't walk And I understand you have the right away But sometimes that just makes you dead right. Heck I remember the bridge down Rensselaer St I would like that back to But that's long forgotten HOOSICK STREET IS A NIGHTMARE

Now imagine the traffic from another another 262 households (from the new Oakwood Ave condo project near Highpointe), with presumably 262 (or more) vehicles added to the already horrendous traffic problem on Oakwood ave?!

I imagine these roads were designed to handle a certain amount of vehicles. I am quite sure we've far exceeded the limits by now. Anyone know for sure?

laura how do you live on 8th if you're not a druggie or a dealer? Is that even possible?
