Has the city tried reducing speeds on this bridge? It could encourage more "active" transportation options for local residents.
Painting the lane widths slightly narrower could have a significant impact on the speeding.

The posted speed limit of 30 MPH is appropriate for the existing roadway geometry at the this location and narrowing the lane widths would result in an increased safety hazard for all motorist attempting to cross the bridge decking during wet conditions.
Also, the Department does not install speed bumps/tables on the State Highway System.
I will work with our Community Safety Traffic Team to request additional speed limit enforcement from Pompano Beach PD -traffic division.

I have two issues and googled to this page. I think it's a great forum and so I have joined.
The first issue is a dark street light at 1401 NE 53rd Ct. It's the intersection with NE 14th Ave. We have people who walk in the neighborhood at night and it is quite dark at that intersection. Auto coming around this curve may not see pedestrians.
Also, in my backyard at 5227 NE 14th Ave. there is a telephone pole upon which runs power lines. At times, especially at night, it sizzles-- sometimes very loudly. It does not sound normal to me. Could this be a horrible accident waiting to happen? There are of course the metal guy wires which come down into our yard which help to support the pole. I have often wondered about the potential consequences of someone touching that cable if the charge from the insulators arced and sent a huge current to anyone on the ground. Can I get someone to come out and check this?
Thank you

You need to make a separate request. I would contact 311 Assistance at www.311assistance.webs.com
