These plates were installed by DeKalb Co Water as part of repairs to the water line. We are continuing to follow up with them to get this repair completed and the plate removed. They had promised us the work would be done by Feb 28. I have been back in contact with them today to get an update on completing this repair since it appears they did not meet that date.
I have received an update on the schedule from DeKalb County. They have told us that the final pavement patch under the plate and the removal of the plate is scheduled to be completed this week. As for the dip in the road after the plate, that is a result of a separate issue with a storm drain pipe. The City is investigating and has scheduled the videoing of the pipe so we can determine what need to be done to repair the pipe and the dip above it.
Could we at least patch the dips and irregularities along this stretch of road until this road is scheduled for repaving? Is that possible? Clearly this part of Dresden is in desperate need of attention!
We have completed our investigation of the storm drain pipe under the road at that location and have determined that we can repair the pipe without having to dig up the road. Therefore we have initiated the work order to have the plate and dip repaired. This work should be completed within the next 2 weeks.
I read in the Brookhaven Neighbor today that the stretch of Dresden from Ellijay Rd to Apple Valley Rd is scheduled and budgeting for repaving in 2014.
That would address this issue. It would be great if someone from the Brookhaven Public Works would inform us when the repaving is scheduled once that information is available.
