Of course they're back. They will continue to challenge the system. It is important that our elected officials, civic leaders, community minded individuals and the Oakland Police Department stay on top of this.

Oh wow, that was fast. I thought I saw a security guard there the last few evenings that I've parked over there. I went through that lot this past Sunday morning and no one was camped there. It was looking nice and clean.

Yep. They're back. Camping by the children's playground / 10th St bridge construction.

Still there. The rats and skunks do seem to appreciate them, so I guess they add something. But someone had a nice camp set up under the palm tree, of course they made a campfire and set it ablaze, which melted a sprinkler and sent a small stream running down for a couple weeks into the estuary. Probably a ten grand on the water bill. I called parks and rec the first day, dunno if that was why it finally got shut off or not. Wait, this is a 4 year old issue? I have not seen any kids playing in this $50,000 park and nobody can use the $300,000 bike bath on one side of the estuary. Meanwhile we build more parks/camping grounds on the other side of the lake by 20th st? madness lol, there is already a community on the putting green eyeing it. Maybe you can put toilet bowls instead of sprinklers and run the pipes the other way into the lake and people can put their tents over them? You realize that if you wreck the sprinkler system regularly, it won't come on in the middle of the night and soak your tent? Sprinkler systems are fragile and expensive.

I see they've decided to install permanent homeless shelters and close off the remainder of the bike/pedestrian path between lake merritt and bart. So glad we paid millions for this homeless camp.
