Thank you for reporting the issue to the City of Bridgeport. Please know that due to the massive amount of snowfall in the city, streets were plowed and re-plowed to keep up with the removal of the snow. There is no way for the plow truck drivers to avoid blocking your driveway...it's not done intentionally. Please know for Snow Related Emergencies:

But it's actually true. Unfortunately.

The only real solution would be for the city to send out two trucks in tandem to all locations and have a smaller on that will dig out driveways ( or at least the extra snow in front of it). Well actually one other. I lived in a town in Upstate NY that would follow the plow with a dump truck into which the snow it was grabbing would be dumped and it was taken to another location and dumped. But that would take far to long in a city with the number of streets that Bridgeport has.

I have had luck reducing the amount of snow piled in front of my driveway by shoveling, by hand, the area in front of my neighbors house, just about a shovel's width, before the plows come by in the first place.

KFW..... I went out and clean more snow from driveway entrance and threw inside our yard because I know we are not supposed to throw it on the street.

I get it. I've got the same frustrations. But the problem is that because the plow is designed the way it is...to shove snow and not shovel it, there is always going to be that sort of hang-over that ends up blocking driveways. A back hoe would be a better option if they could just shovel it out not push it around as it currently is done. I had to shovel out my driveway too. It sucks. But this is February and this is Connecticut...Not Florida!
