The liability for fixing the damaged sign would be the responsibly of the car owner or the insurance carrier that covers that vehicle. The sign for Flaherty Farm subdivision would be a private property issue and not town owned or maintained. Does the town not maintain the lawn where that sign is? Our neighborhood doesn't have HOA, and I always see the town mowing where the sign is and all along the sidewalk by the sign.

The town does mow the street right of way in this area. The sign is outside the public street right of way. The sign would not be maintained by the Town.

After obtaining the police report, it looks as though the individual responsible may not have had insurance. He doesn't even have a license in this state even though the report shows he is a resident here. In the case that he didn't have insurance, will the damage be left in its current condition permanently? There are many stone walls out of the public street right of way throughout Wake Forest that the town maintains (the one with the downtown Wake Forest sign near Roosevelt Ave for example). I will talk with my neighbors and find out what our course of action needs to be since several in my cul de sac alone are upset about this matter.

The signs and walls maintained by the town are in the right of way or located on town owned properties. The sign on Roosevelt Avenue is on town owned property.

Ok, I spoke with my neighbor, and she mentioned that a couple of years ago she contacted the town about changing the light bulb on the neighborhood stone monument. She was curious why the town came out and replaced that bulb if they aren't responsible for the stone monument? This isn't a regular light pole. It's one built into the top of the monument.

Town of Wake Forest power doesn't service the Flaherty Farms area of the town. Also the service provider for your area would be who services your light and or replaces the bulbs.
