It’s probably safe to assume the neighbors are not the problem. The truck in the photo would not be categorized as a commercial truck. The truck is not over the weight limit nor does it have signs on it. It seems to be a work truck is all

BOX TRUCK is clearly in the law. one officer even bragged about how he was in "parking" or who ever is supposed to be controlling improper parking, for "years" and Box Trucks aren't considered "commercial" ! How many violations went by when he was on watch?

Yes we have “time on our hands” to make an effort to keep Sarasota beautiful. There is no HOA but there are County codes. Citizens have a responsibility to report what they believe to be violations of the codes. It is the County’s duty to enforce their codes.

Yes that is true but don’t you feel calling the police on the matter more then 3 times is a bit excessive? The police have way more important things to do and you could possibly taken them away from or delayed them to responding to something time sensitive or a emergency? Just saying?

Yes I don’t think it is a matter for the police. I think it’s a matter for the county code enforcement division.

Yes, the police come and say it's the county, the county says call the parking division, the parking division says call codes, the codes dept says it's a parking problem. Could someone please get them all in one room and get rid of the 30 or so commercial vehicles that should NEVER EVER NEVER BE THERE NEVER FOR EVER BE THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE, according to the police and the codes dept. (and law) They are "scoff" laws. No shirt no shoes no service. No parked commercial vehicles, mow your lawn, get the "items" stored on your front lawn gone, act like you live in a neighborhood, not a commercial parking lot. (it applies at lunch time too!) we have these laws because of the kind of people , like county employees, that don't understand we are not like them and don't like looking at your trucks or garbage on your lawn! Lily62, you are correct, all these police and not one of them does their job! If the first time the codes dept, over a year ago now, just did their job, all those cops would never been called. This matter is now in front of the county commissioners , for over 6 month, they promised to fix it, nothing done. Over 40 county employees and the county commissioners involved, just because the codes dept is so incompetent, wasting all these resources! If more people did something about every problem they see (I see you have never done anything about the conditions in your neighborhood) there would be less problems. If every time you call, which has been my experience, they argue with you and say stupid things. County codes supervisor said to me "We don't go by the intent of the law" " the laws are sketchy and must have been written by lawyers" "we randomly send people to hot spots" "what is wrong with the plumbing truck on the lawn, he may need it in an emergency!" "if you want to live in a nice neighborhood, you have to pay more" "you have higher standards"

Eric, read the law. A commercial vehicle is defined as "as vehicle used primarily for commercial use". If that were not the case, rider, and all the other "box truck" rentals would need a CDL to drive. They are not registered "commercial" You are as ignorant of the law as the cops and codes dept. I have stood in the street and read aloud the code to both the police and "Bob" the codes guy. None of them knew the law and none of them have fixed anything. WHY? Because in Florida when you tell someone what a crappy job they do, they say fu and "thats how we do things in FL" Educate yourself, and educate your neighbors. The county says we have to report problems, so we report and 10 years later, yes, some of the neighbors here in Sarasota Springs have been complaining for 10 years, and you people do nothing! We need to hire Americans! (why does the county employ drug addicts? over 50% of employed Sarasota employees qualify as drug addicts)
