Description
Traffic is way to fast on Brisbon road, illustrated by the fatal traffic accident a bit ago. Possible solutions is a pedestrian crossing with flashing sign across the road in front of the 2 entrances into Creekside or a radar speed display or more signs, 30 mph speed limit on the stretch of road in front of Creekside. Can something be done?

City of Richmond Hill, GA (Verified Official)
Acknowledged City Clerk - Dawnne G. (Verified Official)
City and County representatives met to discuss the proper next steps after receiving the incident report from Georgia State Patrol and its review by Richmond Hill Police Department.
It was agreed upon that the City and County should engage a professional traffic and pedestrian safety consultant to perform a study in the area in order to determine the best solution. We have engaged with a very qualified consultant in Kimley-Horn. Their team includes four professional traffic operations engineers and two certified Road Safety Professionals, which is a certification achieved through a high level of practice and knowledge in the road safety profession.
Kimley-Horn proposes we complete a Road Safety Audit (RSA) for Brisbon Road. The RSA is a safety performance examination of an existing roadway corridor by an independent multi-disciplinary audit team; and is widely viewed as a proactive, innovative approach to improving safety and have been implemented nationwide for this purpose. Based on their extensive experience, Kimley-Horn believes an RSA would best serve the City and County and would achieve these primary objectives:
• Quickly implement effective safety countermeasures along Brisbon Road
• Adequately plan for future needs along the Brisbon Road corridor and surrounding area
• Identify potential, similar areas of concern within Richmond Hill
All of the suggested solutions and feedback provided to the City via email, SeeClickFix, etc. will continue to be relayed to the consultant for review and consideration as part of the RSA. The City anticipates receiving the final RSA within a few months. We will keep you updated as this process continues.
Thank you for contacting us with your concerns and suggestions.
