The street has been in this very poor condition for the last few years and should have never been dug up! DPW and the mayor are to blame for this fiasco and we want the street re paved!!

And as per my previous question, any idea if there are plans to pave lower Flynn - the section leading to Oakledge Park. The upper part was done previously.

I know that the street has been in awful shape for years, but I don't know why. My experience with parking and pavement conditions is that blaming others probably has never helped. I have persistently and constructively requested changes for parking signage several times, and eventually the city made changes. If just one percent of those who grumble daily while advenuring down Briggs let the city know, I'm sure this would've been taken care of long ago....but yes, are the sidewalks between the mayor's house and City Hall most likely in tip top shape?:)

The dpw loves to take its time. The last year they blamed it on the covid virus but what about the previous years? And i dont know about the sidewalks between the mayors house and city hall but he drives and rides his bike everywhere

I believe the city hopes to conserve valuable resources by deferring maintenance and construction along the route of the Southern Connector, or Pkwy, or whatever we're calling it these days. And there is a certain logic to not have the local taxpayers pay to pave this, then pay to tear it up, before letting the feds and state pay their, is it, 95% share to do construction and new infrastructure along this stretch before they pave it (again). Periodic grading and a little gravel now and then would be a good investment to help us along to that day, though.

And what happens if this champlain pkwy never gets built?? We have been waiting for over 40 years or so to get the stupid thing built but nothing yet! This is a big joke!!

Was new gravel just put down or was it paved? If it wasnt paved then how was this problem resolved? And what about lower flynn ave??
