We hit it around 6:15pm this evening resulting in a broken hub and a split in the seam of the tire. As far as other damage, we will have to have the alignment and tie rod checked tomorrow when we get the tire replaced. We were going slower than the posted speed limit in a 2014 Honda Civic, but the dead-on hit by the right front tire with no warning whatsoever caused some pretty pricey damage. Per Will's comment, it could definitely be a much more serious issue for a motorcycle or at a high rate of speed.
