Description
I drive through here at least once a week after 8pm on my way to/from the nearby Rockville Sportsplex and I don't think I have ever seen a car coming out of Taft Court. Yet I often get stuck at a red light on Gude while the green is not benefiting anyone. Gude itself is not that heavily traveled at this time, so this seems like a perfect place to turn the lights to blinking red and yellow after 8 or 9. Or at least make the green for Taft traffic actuated. This is just one of numerous examples of Montgomery Co. intersections that could be improved by using the blinking lights at late night hours, a practice which is all too rare here.

This signal is operated by Montgomery County. City of Rockville staff forwarded it to Montgomery County's Traffic and Transportation Division this afternoon.
One benefit of keeping the signal on color at nighttime is that it allows a pedestrian to get a "walk" signal and cross the street. When a light is on flash mode, the push button does not respond.
