Protect employees from continual vehicle emissions inhalation. Headache, fatigue, flu-like effects, heart problems and other symptons related to carbon monoxide poisoning should be a concern at all quick serve ( drive-thru ) restaurants. Emission inhalation is a possible contributor to the restaurant industry's unusually high employee turnover. So next time you use the drive thru to get your "tall half calf double skinny vanilla latte no foam with chocolate sprinkles", don't let your vehile idle while your precious drink is being made. Better yet, it's faster if you walk into the restaurant ! Don't be lazy...employees ARE being poisoned at drive-thru windows !
Obviously "get_real" is a die-hard fan of TH. Are you one of these lazy bums who can't walk into a drive-thru and purchase your order from the front counter? I guess this requires walking, which is good for you! If ya wanna cry, I'll toss you a towel...waaaaa!
YOU GUYS ROCK! I SEE THE SAME THING AT MCDONALDS. CRAZY LONG LINE-UPS AT THE DRIVE-THRU TOO. CARS & TRUCKS JUST IDLING AND WAITING FOR THEIR BIG MAC. MAKES ME LAUGH WHEN I SEE SOME DUDE WITH HIS BIG DIESEL TRUCK WHO CAN'T MANUEVER UP TO THE TAKE-OUT WINDOW OR THE BIG LADY WHO ORDERS A HUGE MEAL AND THEN ORDERS A DIET COKE...THINKING IT'S GOOD FOR HER. LOL
Thanks for reporting this location. PGAIR has taken note of this location as a possible idling hotspot, and we are continuing to gather data on hotspots around the City. As noted below, we will be addressing the issue by discussing the problem with local businesses, installing idle free signage, and targeting our outreach efforts to those areas where idling is a significant problem.
Thank you for your help in reducing unnecessary vehicle emissions in Prince George!
It is time this city creates an anti idling bylaw. Garth, please bring this to council. There is no argument that
diesel truck owners are, by far, the worst violators. Fine of 50 dollars per incident is required. This is long overdue. Elections are coming up soon.....you need this to hang your hat on!!!
