  Thank you. I want to note that a traffic study was conducted about two years ago on Bright Street. I'm not sure if the data is publically available, but it might be elucidating.

  Thank you for writing. Bright Street was already on our list of streets for traffic calming consideration and we have confirmed that it does qualify for improvements. We are currently working on two other traffic calming projects and preparing to start a third on another street. With those underway, the schedule for traffic calming on Bright Street is pending the FY22 budget development process. We will keep this See Click Fix request updated as we know more about our upcoming budget for traffic calming work.

  We recently updated our traffic calming program to prioritize streets with safety concerns. It is our intent to have a more defined schedule that we can share within the next few months.

  Thank you for the detailed response; that sounds great, though that is a while from now.

  A traffic measurement study was conducted here several years ago. When was it determined that Bright Street is eligible, and how are traffic calming projects prioritized?

  I want to underscore that this is a serious problem. While I appreciate that these things take, I am concerned about safety as lots of children live in the area.

  With that said, is there a lesser action that DPW could take in the interim?

  Yes! I echo my concerns for imminent danger to children and adult pedestrians on Bright St! This road appears to be a cut through between Archibald St and Riverside at HIGH SPEED access! PLEASE DO NOT DELAY! The issue has been reported for TWO years now! Please fix the problem before someone gets hurt!

  I wish to chime in as another neighbor who has lived at 37 Bright Street since early September of 2016. There are many dangerous drivers going up and down our street as a cut-through from Archibald to Riverside. Years ago, before I lived on Bright, my car was totaled by a young man pulling out of Bright Street into oncoming traffic on Riverside. I have encountered speed bumps on streets with far less traffic than ours, and hope that something can be done to make sure they are installed as soon as possible. Thanks for your time.

  Traffic data is available through the State's searchable database here: https://vtrans.public.ms2soft.com/tcds

  With the recent changes to the Traffic Calming program we're still working on a good system to update our website with each street's traffic calming analysis. Thanks to City Council's commitment to this work, we can announce that funding is secured for the streets listed as "pending triage and funding." We're very close to having an updated work plan with next steps we can share. Thanks for everyone's patience while we prepare for this next phase of work.

  You are receiving this message because you have previously (or perhaps just now) submitted a request on SeeClickFix. We're excited to let you know that we are now implementing a comprehensive asset management program which is a mostly "behind the scenes" effort. This will enable more efficient, more effective and more fiscally sound infrastructure management. Nothing changes for you and we'll continue to use SeeClickFix, but we have had to automate a process to connect our open SCF requests with our asset management program. There may be the occasional bug to work out, but rest assured that your issue is still in queue and assigned to the right City staffer. Once this initial round of automation is through in about a week, we'll revert back to our standard messages on SeeClickFix.
