I've referred this to our Public Works Department. When the staff has had a chance to respond I’ll post an update. Thanks for reporting.

Per Public Works, we can do multi-way stop evaluations at intersections along that section of Harps Mill Road, but we need to know the specific intersections being requested. If you can provide us that information then we can do the evaluation for it. The traffic calming evaluation was completed last year and that section of Harps Mill Road is currently 15th out of 119 streets on the Neighborhood Streetscape project list. It is not yet high enough on the list to be considered for a project.

Raleigh Police will check the area, an update will be posted when we hear back from them.

I really appreciate the speed detectors that were installed as well as seeing the police monitoring increased. I really hope this will confirm that some stop signs need to be put in place soon. After all, Nichols Road had stop signs installed and that road does not have nearly as many houses on it, compared to the number of houses that is on Harps Mill Road.

I also live on Harps Mill and noticed the speed detector coming from Gresham Lake Road is not registering! I wish something could be done about the speeding, it is ridiculous that people speed so bad through a neighborhood!

It has been a couple of months now since I posted the speeding issue for a 2nd time and have not received any notification.
I have not seen RPD monitoring the speeders and/or speed detectors have not been installed since. What is the status on resolving the issue?
I would like to know how Nichols Road got stop signs installed when they hardly have the traffic or as many houses on this street in comparison to the traffic and houses on Harps Mill Road!

Excessive speeding still happening, including the speeders are our very own RPD!!!!! Thanks?!

Since April 1, 2014, there have been 40 traffic stops conducted by members of the Raleigh Police Department on Harps Mill Rd. The charges range from speeding to registration violations. Beat Officers will continue to work in this area as a part of their normal patrol activities.

I wish the RPD would monitor speeders during peak times between 7:30 - 9:00 am and 5:00-6:30 pm.
I really wish we could get stop signs put in!!!!!!
